There is a great place to mine Fel Iron in Hellfire that a lot of people don't know about. To get to this location, proceed with the following steps...
Fly back to the dark portal in Hellfire.
Jump off the side of the platform.
Make your way around the back of the portal.
Once you are here, you can do full sweeps up and down the land behind the portal
There are approximately 25 spawn points with 3-4 normally active on any one sweep.
Also, to make things even better, there are no mobs back there.
On my current, server I VERY rarely see anyone else back there so the competition is extremely low.
In about an hour of running up and down I got 100 ore, 15 eternium ore, 3 primal fires and 2 primal earths! Plus a quite a few gems.
