When Will a Universal Hand-Held Internet Connected Device Handle All World Languages?

Universal Language translators have been discussed and dreamed about for a hundred years now; machines that might know every world language; Imagine that? When will a Universal Hand-Held Internet Connected Device be readily available to handle all World Languages?

The Online Think Tank recently considered this question and one member stated; "This is an easy one because on Page 5 of SpeechTech Magazine in the October 2006 issue was an advertisement for "SpeechGear, Inc." which has the capacity to instantly translate language anytime and anywhere onto Windows XP Tablet PC Edition."

Look up "Endurance TabletPC" and "Compradre" with SpeechGear. SpeechGear in their previous white papers explains their system is speech-to-speech language translation. Also, remember this was being talked about at TED Conference Last Year.

We can expect all this technology to miniaturized within the year and readily available to market in 2-years and it will be a hot seller, I think the smart VCs are already all over it. And In-Q-Tel and DARPA are seeing these technologies worthy for the challenges in Iraq. Apparently, a prototype of this is in use by troops in IRAQ now presently and some police departments and Border Patrol Agents as well.

Imagine the benefits to business dealings and uniting culture and peoples of the world? I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
